We have put together the structure of the event, few guidelines and quick links to help you prepare for the event and navigate this virtual unconference.

Greeting from Pitaara team!

 

Please read through this page completely! 

 

It will give you all a fair idea of how the two days during Pitaara Unleash are looking from the starting point and how can you navigate through the entire event with ease.

As you are aware that this unconference is hosted on Zoom, we would strongly advise you to download the Zoom application on your device. Also, please use it once, so that you are comfortable with Zoom. 

 

Also, if you are new to Zoom, there is nothing to worry. Pitaara kids committee have made quick videos on how to use Zoom and our Live Pitaara/OST board to guide you

Pitaara is an entire two-day event which will be live from 10:00 am on June 1 and will go on till 6:30 pm on June 2. 

​

There will be multiple sessions going on at the same time. You can go to anyone you find exciting. 

​

Few sessions will need you to get some simple material that you can get from the home such as pencils, papers, colours etc. While some sessions might need you to download an app etc. To make it easy, we have put together the list of sessions in a directory

​

You can check all the pre-existing sessions here,

  • Make a list of your favourite sessions.

  • Look at the materials needed for the session you want to join

  • Collect that material in one place to be prepared for the session 

 

On the day of the unconference, you can see all the sessions on the Live OST board and go to any session you want to using the Meeting ID and Password on the board. 

POPCORN

Any participants can offer to host a workshop/session through Live OST Board. This video shows how:

How to put my session on Live OST board? 

  1. Go to Live OST board

  2. Click on Here You Go button on the right corner. 

  3. Fill the details of your session carefully. It will ask you for the topic of your session, Zoom link, meeting Id and Password.

  4. Fill that and Submit. 

  5. Go back to Live OST board and check the calendar. Your session will be live on the calendar. Refresh it once if your session is not visible. 

Butterfly 

​

As mentioned, there will be multiple sessions going on at the same time. While you can choose which session/workshop you want to go to, you can also choose to be like a butterfly and go from one session to another as you feel like. Some sessions require full participation so facilitator might not allow butterflies in their sessions. It is always good to ask the facilitator to join in middle.

What is Gift culture? 

​

The spirit of Gift has sustained Life, over a great long period of time. Mindful, free and passionate sharing of resources (of all kinds - materials, time, skills, etc.) is known to have sustained and stabilized communities and continue to. 

 

And this free sharing of resources came from a collective understanding or a common feeling that we are all one. 

And when we say Pitaara is an event hosted in the spirit of gift culture, we mean to say that the Gift is much beyond money. Yes, your financial contributions will support the work of the amazing facilitators who have offered their sessions out of love. It will as well support the future programs and events hosted by Self Designed Learning Alliance and as well provide for Covid Relief. 

 

But the Gift, as we said is much beyond that. One necessarily doesn't always give back to where one received from. They as well offer forward. The Gift can be time, skills, knowledge and resources. It could be even help in hosting the next Pitaara meet.

 

Let the work and works of this community and all the individuals who have come together be sustained by what you offer.

Contribution: 

​

The suggested contribution for the event is INR 1000. You can contribute whatever you are able to from your heart. We whole-heartedly invite you to participate in the event and lack of money should not deter you from attending. The contribution made will 

​

The contribution made will be going to the SDLA (Self Design Learning Alliance) events, our facilitators and to the Covid 19 fund relief work.

​

SDLA is building up a platform to bring together all the young unschoolers to reimagine the way we learn and grow.
